Fluted Pilasters

The Dance of Light and Shadow

Thousands of years ago, ancient Egyptian and Greek builders began decorating columns with vertical grooves, a technique known as fluting. These grooves made columns appear taller and created beautiful patterns as sunlight moved across them. At Songwat House, the same classical idea can be seen in the columns along the façade. Throughout the day, changing light and shadow bring these simple grooves to life, giving the building a quiet sense of rhythm and elegance.
